Permanent uppehållstillstånd (permanent residence permit)

Permanent uppehållstillstånd, often shortened to PUT, means the permit has no end date. It is not the same as citizenship.

Why it matters

PUT is often a step on the way to citizenship, but it does not give you the right to vote in Riksdag elections.
