Hemvist (habitual residence)
Where you actually live and for how long you have lived there.
Hemvist is about where you actually live and have your main connection. Citizenship cases require that you have had hemvist in Sweden for a certain period.
Example
If you have lived in Sweden with a residence permit for several years, that time normally counts as hemvist time.
Why it matters
Hemvist time is one of the basic conditions for becoming a Swedish citizen.
